Description
The FABS Fast Track training programme has been developed in partnership with the Centre for Healthy Ageing Research, University of Birmingham. With our blended approach of online learning and practical training, we’ve made it as easy as possible to fast track through the FABS programme so you can become a specialist instructor for the over 60s.
FABS will enable you to:
– Understand the major changes associated with ageing and inactivity
– Understand how to support and motivate the older adult to adhere to physical activity
– Understand guidelines and training principles in relation to the older adult
– Be able to plan, deliver and evaluate exercise sessions for older adults including progressive training
Once you purchase the FABS Fast Track Training you will receive an email with a link to upload your Level 2 or above certificate in fitness or dance. Once this has been approved, you will receive a welcome email with all details you need to access the interactive online learning. Here you will be guided through each unit and assessed for competence as you go. You will also be shown, through video tutorial, each of the exercises in preparation for your practical assessment. This equates to 20 hours of guided learning. You will also be able to download and keep all the theory and practical information for future reference from training manuals provided online.
This allows you to learn and practice in the convenience of your own home so when you attend the two practical days you will be fully prepared. Here you will practice delivery of all the exercises, learn how to link them and put them to music to create fun-filled routines. You will be continually assessed and observed in informal group settings and formally by the Trainer to show your competence in safe and accurate delivery, observation and adaptation, goal setting and motivational techniques.
Please note, you will be able to download a pdf version of the Practical Training manual during your course. You will be able to print this at home if you choose. However, if you don’t have access to a printer, or would like a professionally printed copy, it’s available for an additional £24.99.
