Course Description
Arthritis is one of the most common health conditions you’ll encounter when working with older adults – affecting around 10 million people in the UK. But myths and misunderstandings abound:
- Is arthritis inevitable as we age?
- Can too much exercise cause it?
- Will exercise make it worse?
In this CPD, we’ll cut through the confusion and give you the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to support people living with arthritis in your classes.
Focusing on osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, you’ll learn:
- The causes, diagnosis and treatments for both conditions
- How exercise can be one of the most effective management strategies
- Safe and effective exercise adaptations to improve mobility, reduce pain and boost confidence
- Practical tips to keep participants engaged, included and supported
By the end of the course, you’ll be able to adapt your sessions so they’re both safe and beneficial, helping your participants move more freely and live more actively.
