This year really has passed by in a flash as we’ve now trained over 30 new instructors and have a network of exercise classes running across the country.
So what is the qualification we offer?
Well, it will give you the following specialist qualification – VTCT Level 2 Award in Delivering Chair-Based Exercise. It is an Ofqual accredited course, devised by Skills for Care, that sits on the Qualifications Credit Framework (QCF). Our course is also endorsed by the Centre for Healthy Ageing Research at University of Birmingham and includes the latest evidence-based research from experts in active ageing.
It’s a four day course with great emphasis placed on the practical delivery of safe seated exercise for older adults underpinned by knowledge of how to demonstrate and adapt these exercises effectively. The course is designed to help you plan, prepare and deliver safe chair-based exercise sessions for older adults. You will also learn about the values and principles of adult social care, the effects of ageing, disability and inactivity. You will develop skills to encourage and engage older adults, improving their levels of physical activity and subsequent health benefits.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][mk_padding_divider size=”40″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][mk_highlight text=”“I felt I had everything I needed to complete the course and more.
