Julie Robinson is an experienced Exercise Teacher who has motivated thousands of people to keep active in later life and now has a network of Instructors helping older people and those with disabilities across the UK.
Julie also runs exercise groups for people with multiple sclerosis at St Giles Hospice and community groups for older people with many health conditions which restrict their ability to exercise. For details of Julie’s classes click here.
As Julie’s classes became so popular her clients persuaded her to make a video of the exercises so they could regularly workout at home. They helped with the choice of music, got involved with the filming and they even came up with the name –Move it or Lose it! It was vital to make the exercise routines safe, enjoyable, effective and accessible to everyone whatever their ability. The DVDs are made by real people for real people.
Julie teamed up with Ark Media Productions, a highly skilled professional video production company with a 30 year track record in film and TV production who brought their extensive experience to create high quality exercise DVDs that are engaging and appealing.
The series of DVDs are all endorsed by Professor Janet Lord, Director of The Centre for Healthy Ageing Research who shares the same passion for encouraging people to stay active as they age so they can enjoy rather than endure their later life.
Professor Lord invited Julie to become a collaborating partner in the newly created MRC-ARUK Centre for Musculoskeletal Ageing Research at the University of Birmingham, to help translate the latest validated evidence into practical solutions to improve levels of physical activity for older people.
Julie is also the Yours Magazine and People’s Friend Fitness Expert encouraging hundreds of thousands of people to exercise whatever their age or ability and is spreading the Move it or Lose it! message nationwide by giving inspirational talks and demonstrations to charities and support groups. Julie has been recognised for her tireless efforts to reach people who are often overlooked by the fitness industry and was awarded The National Diversity Award as Entrepreneur of Excellence in the Age Category. Move it or Lose it! also won Best Fitness Newcomer at Ideal World TV spreading the “feel fit for life”campaign across the UK.
Now Move it or Lose it! is training new instructors to provide exercise sessions and opportunities for fun and friendship in their local communities.
